Meet The Cast

Visiting Mr. Green

A Riveting Drama

Author: Jeff Baron

Directed By Nonie White

October 2-12, 2008

DIRECTOR’S NOTES

Visiting Mr. Green is a wonderful, warm study in human nature and emotions we have all experienced, in one way or another.  The rehearsal process has given all of us many chances to discuss and explore topics raised by this play and it is my sincere hope that you will find our production funny, tender and a grand way to spend your afternoon or evening.  My deepest thanks to Walter and Bowen and all of the talented people who have made this show a reality and to you, the audience, who support live theatre each time you are here!

Meet the Cast

Barrs, Bowen (Ross Gardiner) - Bowen is very excited to be back on the stage at Francis Wilson Playhouse.  Over the past few years he's been in a number of shows here.  You may have seen him in Rumors or Six Dance Lessons.  Each show brings its own challenges and rewards and Bowen has certainly fallen in love with the characters in this play. These two men remind us all of what is truly important in life and how at times we must see things in a different light to understand ourselves and others a little bit better. What makes this show more special for Bowen is getting to work with such a talented group of people.  Nonie, you are an extraordinary theatrical talent and the joy you bring to my work is indescribable.  Dianna, there is no one else I'd rather see in the producer's seat. Rita, Stephanie and Miss Mary….what's a show without you guys?!  And James D., I have yet to properly thank you for the many fantastic sets you've done; so deepest thanks to you for your talent and creativity! And Walter.....Mazel Tov on being the perfect Mr. Green!  As always, a special thanks to my partner Jake for his unending support and assurances that I should always reach for the stars!

Raine, Walter (Mr. Green) - Walter is delighted to be back on stage at Francis Wilson Playhouse.  In 2005 he played Willie Clark in The Sunshine Boys and in 2006 he portrayed Samuel Jonas in The Second Time Around.  He thanks Nonie White for giving him this opportunity to play Mr. Green and to work with Bowen.  He is a member of the Venue Actors Studio, the Gulfport Players and serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Petersburg Little Theatre. He is retired and lives in St. Petersburg.  Enjoy the show!

Kitenplon, Rita (Stage Manager) - Rita is back behind the scenes after having appeared in last season’s The Odd Couple, Female Version and Rumors.  Rita has stage managed several shows at FWP including Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks and The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker.  Her other credits, both on the stage and off, include: Mr. Angel, Anna's Brooklyn Promise, The Man Who Came to Dinner, and Auntie Mame.  She is thrilled to be working with such a wonderful and talented group and thanks her husband Steve for his patience and understanding.  God bless you all!
